Snowy Sunday in Spring Hill

Spring Hill - It doesn't happen very often in Tennessee, and when we do get a little now, the city is usually shut down. But this time the snow storm was on March 1st, and it was a Sunday. Thankfully the traffic was light, and my trip to the airport at 08:00 a.m. was just a little slower than usual, not really dangerous.

THis is not normal Tennessee weather, especially in March.

Spring Hill Planning Commission - Regarding wades Grove

Dear Mayor Leverette, Alderman Mitchell, and Alderman Duda,  

On the evening of October 6, 2008 I attended a work session in which a plan for the Wades Grove swimming pool was discussed.  Several Wades Grove home owners were in attendance, my husband and myself included, to support John Maher and the pool project.  You probably witnessed an exodus after the topic was closed, and yes, that was Wades Grove residents there to support John Maher.  

 During the discussion a comment was made that emails had been sent both for and against the swimming pool. I feel John Maher has been more then considerate in accommodating the residents wishes, however as we all know you cannot make everyone happy.  He has changed his master plan and is giving up 3 lots to accommodate the wishes of a 90% majority Wades Grove residents vote in favor of having a pool as soon as possible.  All this has been at his expense.  The residents will only incur an additional $20.00 a month HOA fee.   I fully support the swimming pool project and hope you will share my same enthusiasm.   I understand there are some who do not share my same enthusiasm, but to use a colloquialism let's not "let the tail wag the dog."  The residents favorable majority vote of  90% speaks volumes.

Saturn Plant reopens - 2400 people back to work

THe Saturn plant in SPring Hill Tn has been shut down for the past year with all but 1200 employees being out of work. The plant reopened this week to start production of a new GM Car. The first non-Saturn to be built at this plant. The Chevrolet Traverse crossover utility vehicle will be available for sale in the fall of 2008.

The real estate market for Spring Hill Williamson county, zip code 37174 for 2007 showed typical patterns of high sales in summer, and slower sales in winter. The number of homes for sale at year end was 306, and the average price was $325,222.

  • average price of closed homes in December of 2006 was $288,345, compared to $323,124 in 2007
  • number of homes closed in December of 2006 was 56 compared to 25 in 2007
  • average size of closed homes in December 2006 was 2670 compared to 2898 in 2007

Average sold price was up 12 percent compared to December 2006

Average homes sold is down 55 percent compared to December 2006

Home sales are down, put the prices are going up compared to last year.
